HOW TO CHOOSE A COTTON COMFORTER COVER FOR THE HOTEL ?

What is the advantages of cotton for duvet cover ?

The cotton duvet cover is frequently used in high-end hotels. Moreover, cotton is the most widespread materials in household linen: its natural material offers a softness and elegant aspect. A cotton satin or a percale will give a different property depending on the freshness or warmth sought. Thank’s to its weaving technique, a cotton satin brings a slightly silky aspect, a light and luxurios material. The cotton percale, as for her, provides an incomparable feeling of wellness : lightness and freshness, and its touch is sweet wash after wash.

For your duvet cover at the hotel, should you opt for 100% cotton?

The cotton brings a more qualitative comfort than the polycotton, it offers a softer and pleasant touch. The cotton cover is more pleasant to the touch but also allows for better breathability by facilitating air exchange during sleep. Bergan also offers duvet covers in polycotton made of 80% cotton/20% Polyster, offering a level of comfort equivalent to 100% cotton. Even if polycotton, a mixture of cotton and polyester, is more resistant (with the presence of polyester fiber) than 100% cotton, it is however less appreciated in high-end hotels which prefer natural materials such as cotton sateen (500TC or more) or cotton percale.

How to maintain a cotton duvet cover ?

Cotton bed linen can be washed at 40°C, but in the hotel and for hygiene questions (elimination of bacteria and viruses), it is recommended to wash your cotton duvet covers at 60°C minimum, or even 90°C for stubborn stains on white cotton. Bergan's cotton comforter covers are easily maintained in industrial laundries, both for the washing tunnel and for calendering.

How many sets of linens are needed for comforter covers?

A set of linens is the amount of linens you need to rotate. The number of sets depends on the occupancy rate of your hotel or restaurant. Bergan recommends:

  • For hotels: a minimum of 3 sets of duvet covers and 5 sets of linens being ideal, but some industrial laundries recommend up to 7 sets of bed linens to optimize turnover.
  • For guest rooms: 3 to 5 sets depending on the occupancy rate and the cleaning method you have adopted.
